Clear Web Browser Data Instructions

Many Web browser issues can be resolved by clearing the browsing data, including cookies, site data, cached images and files.  Here are instructions on how to clear browser data for the most common Web browsers.

Google Chrome

  1. At the top right, click the More button (the three vertical dots)
  2. Select More tools then choose Clear Browsing Data…
  3. In the Clear browsing data window, select the Basic tab
  4. Next to Time range select All time, then make certain the check boxes are enabled next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files
  5. Click Clear data
  6. Restart Google Chrome

Mozilla Firefox

  1. At the top right, click the More button (the three horizontal lines) then select Preferences
  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel
  3. Under the Cookies and Site Data section, click Clear Data…
  4. Enable Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content
  5. Click Clear
  6. Click Clear Now
  7. Restart Mozilla Firefox

Apple Safari

  1. Select History
  2. Select Clear History…
  3. Next to Clear, choose all history
  4. Click Clear History
  5. Restart Apple Safari

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click Settings and more (the three horizontal dots) then select Settings
  2. Select Privacy, search, and services panel
  3. Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear
  4. Under Time range select All time
  5. Enable Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files
  6. Click Clear now
  7. Restart Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Internet Explorer

  1. Click the Tools (gear) icon
  2. Select Safety and Delete browsing history…
  3. In the Delete Browsing History window uncheck Preserve Favorites website data, and make certain Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, Form data, and Passwords are checked
  4. Click on Delete.
  5. Restart Microsoft Internet Explorer
