iPad Check Out

Beginning the Fall of 2019, The St. Vrain Valley School District (SVVSD) is no longer be using Destiny as the iPad inventory system. To check out district iPads, please use the District Technology Services (DTS) iPad Inventory Site.

Note: The directions below are for checking out and checking in district iPads on an individual basis through the year. During refresh, please follow these directions instead.

Check Out

1. Log in to the DTS iPad Inventory Site with your district username and password

2. In the upper right menu, select the Check In/Out option

3. In the Check Out tab, enter a student ID number or username and click Find

Note: Make certain to enter the full district student username and not just a last name or part of a name

4. Enter the SVVSD Asset Tag Number of the iPad and click Check Out

Warning Messages

IMPORTANT: A whistle sound will play when there is something on the screen that may need your attention.

When you search for a student, you may see the following messages. These are for your information only and WILL NOT prevent you from checking out an iPad to the student.

  • Student appears to be not enrolled at your school
  • Student has outstanding LTP fees

When you enter the asset tag of an iPad, you may see the following messages. These WILL prevent you from checking out the iPad until the situation is resolved.

  • Asset is already checked out to username
  • Asset is reported missing and cannot be checked out

After you check out an iPad, you may see this message. This WILL NOT prevent you from checking out an iPad, but does need to be resolved. Please contact DTS if you find any iPads that are not located at your site.

  • This asset does not appear to match your site
  • It was still assigned, but you may need to investigate

Check In

1. Log in to the iPad Inventory Site with your district username and password

2. In the upper right menu, select the Check In/Out option

3. In the Check In tab, enter the SVVSD Asset Tag Number of the iPad and click Check In

Reporting

1. Log in to the iPad Inventory Site with your district username and password

2. From the upper right menu, select Reporting

3. Click the Inventory By Site link

4. In the Columns tab, click and drag the data to include in the report from the Available (left) column to the Selected (center) column

5. In the Parameters (right) column, select any parameters to limit the report to

6. Click Run Report

  • Status Details – Status: Show whether a device has been reported missing. May contain other data, but only Missing is used for iPads
  • MDM Values – ExceptionSite: Show if device is assigned other settings, such as Staff
  • Hardware Information – ModelDescription: Shows details about device such as iPad or MacBook

7. View the report in the Results tab

8. If needed, select Export CSV to download a Comma-Separated Values delimited text file

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Reload the page: Hold down a shift key and select the Reload this page for a hard refresh.
  • Try another Web browser: Confirm the issue exists in another Web browser such as Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox.
  • If the issue persists across multiple Web browsers and after reloading the page, collect details about the issue and submit an iPad Work Request to DTS.
