Student Password Reset FAQ for Students

My Password is Working…… So Why Should I Change It?

Imagine if your arch-enemy got full access to all of your accounts and could see everything. That’s what hackers are trying to do every day and changing your password is one of the simplest things you can do to keep your information safe, so pick a good password!

How can I remember my password?

Your password should be something that is only memorable to you: a pet’s name, your favorite color and some numbers, whatever you are going to remember most. A good password is memorable and secure.

What is a secure password?

Your password should not be easy to guess (like ‘password”) It should be memorable and contain an uppercase letter, a symbol, numbers, and be at least 8 characters.

What if I forgot my password?

I can’t remember my password. How do I reset it? Log onto the password site and answer your security questions, or check with your Student Account Guardian at school.  Here is the list of questions that can be selected.

When?  You will be required to change your password annually.  Please look for password reset email reminders. (Annually = 365 days)

Where?  password.svvsd.orgPassword Manager

If you have never reset your password and never created security questions, you will need to do that now. Follow the onscreen prompts to select your questions and complete them with answers that you will remember.

Make sure that for the next step, you choose an appropriate password that meets all of the password requirements, or your password will not be reset.  Thinking of a password can be difficult. Do you have a really funny day that you remember? Maybe a favorite color, or a favorite pet? Maybe even a favorite person – don’t worry we won’t tell. Choose a password that is going to be unique and memorable to you. The best passwords are secure, but that doesn’t always mean complex. A memorable password is better than a very secure password.

What you will need to know after you reset the password?

This will change your password for Google Apps, Schoology, Infinite Campus, and most of your digital curriculum.  It will not change your lunch number or student ID number.  If you are not sure, check the programs page under ‘details’.
