How to Update an iPad in Mobile Device Management with Name Change

When a student or staff member who is using a district iPad experiences a name change, the following steps must be taken to update their device with the correct information.

  1. Find the device in Jamf Pro ( under the Devices tab and select it to enter its record
  2. Select the User and Location section on the left menus in the Inventory tab
  3. Click Edit, then enter the new Active Directory username and click Search
  4. Once populated, Save the change in the upper right
  5. If needed, have the user go to their iPad Settings and enter their password to their changed account
