iPad Settings for Digital Curricular Tools

Some settings on a district iPad may interfere with access to online digital curriculum. If students are having trouble accessing digital curriculum, please check the following settings.

1. Disable Low Power Mode

  • Go to Settings > Battery
  • Tap on Low Power Mode to disable (button should be gray)

2. Enable Location Services

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services
  • Tap on Location Services to enable (button should be green)

3. Enable Date & Time Set Automatically

  • Go to Settings > General > Date & Time
  • Tap on Set Automatically to enable (button should be green)
  • Make certain Time Zone is Denver

4. Disable Prevent Cross-Site Tracking

  • Go to Settings > Safari
  • Tap on Prevent Cross-Site Tracking to disable (button should be gray)

5. Disable Block All Cookies

  • Go to Settings > Safari
  • Tap on Block All Cookies to disable (button should be gray)

6. Enable JavaScript

  • Go to Settings > Safari
  • Scroll to the bottom and tap on Advanced
  • Tap to turn on JavaScript (button should be green)

7. Are Restrictions Turned On?

8. Disable Private Browsing

  • Open Safari
  • Check the address bar at the top of the page to see if it is white or black
    • If white, Private Browsing is disabled
    • If black, Private Browsing is enabled
    • Note: If Safari is in Dark Mode, the page color will be black regardless of whether Private Browsing is enabled or disabled
  • To turn off Private Browsing
    • Tap on the pages icon in the upper right corner
    • Tap on Private to disable
    • Tap on Done

9. Disable AutoFill Passwords or Delete Saved Passwords

  • To disable AutoFill Passwords
    • Go to Settings > Passwords > AutoFill Passwords
    • Tap AutoFill Passwords to disable (button should be gray)
  • To delete Saved Passwords
    • Go to Settings > Passwords
    • Tap on Edit in the upper right corner
    • Tap to select each saved password
  • Tap Delete

10. Reset Safari and Restart iPad

  • Quit out of all applications by double-tapping the Home button and swiping up on all applications
  • Go to Settings > Safari > Advanced
  • Tap Website Data
  • Scroll to bottom and tap Remove All Website Data
  • Confirm by tapping Remove in pop-up window
  • Restart the iPad
    • Hold down the top button until the slider control appears
    • Slide to power off
    • Wait a minute then hold down the top button to power back on
