2019 TestNav verification process

Note:  The screenshots are from a Mac computer, however, screens look similar on all devices.

To verify Mac (OSX):

  • Log in to the machines.
  • In the upper right, use Spotlight to search for TestNav.  This icon should be blue and white.
  • TestNav in Spotlight Search
  • Click the TestNav icon.
  • If this is the first time running the application, select Colorado.
  • In the upper-right, select the person icon and in the drop-down select App Check.
  • Make sure it says that everything passed.
  • OPTIONAL, BUT RECOMMENDED – To verify that you have a connection to your local cache server, there is an additional step.
  • Enter your configuration identifier, found here.
  •
  • Click Run App Check.  If successful, you will see an extra entry in green.
  • If anything here did not work, submit a support ticket to DTS with the error/what you tried, along with the asset tag number of the machine.

To verify Chromebooks:

  • Do NOT log into the Chromebook.
  • In the lower left, look for a menu called Apps.
  • Click the TestNav icon.
  • If this is the first time running the application, select Colorado.
  • In the upper right, select the person icon and in the drop-down select App Check.
  • Enter your site’s Configuration Identifier.
  • Make sure it says App Check was Successful.
  • If anything here did not work, submit a support ticket to DTS with the error/what you tried, along with the asset tag number of the machine.

To Verify Windows machines:

  • Log in to the computer.
  • Look on the desktop for the blue and white TestNav icon.
  • Double click the TestNav icon to launch the application.
  • If this is the first time running the application select Colorado.
  • In the upper right select the person icon and in the drop-down select App Check
  • Enter your site’s Configuration Identifier.
  • Make sure it says App Check was Successful.
  • If anything here did not work, submit a support ticket to DTS with the error/what you tried, along with the asset tag number of the machine.

Important things to keep an eye on:

  • At the login page make sure that it says Colorado above the username.  If it does not, look  in the upper right and select the person icon then, in the drop-down, select Choose a different customer, then select Colorado.
  • If you are thinking about using an older device, please test battery life well before the assessment window opens.
  • In windows if the machine was used last year for testing you will see a message saying this is a temporary profile.   That is OK and expected.
