Elevated Restrictions Settings for LTP iPads

Schools have the option of installing a configuration profile onto student iPads that sets an elevated restrictions level beyond the default restrictions.

There are three levels of elevated restrictions:

  • Level 1
    • Removes the Apple App Store
  • Level 2
    • All Level 1 restrictions AND:
      • Disallows removing apps from the iPad
      • Disallows the ability to erase all content and settings on the iPad
      • Disallows changing the Wallpaper background
      • Disallows the iBook and iTunes stores
  • Level 3:
    • All Level 2 restrictions AND:
      • Enables Apple’s “Limited Adult Content” web-filtering with curricular sites whitelisted
        • Also blacklists social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and more
      • Prevents private browsing and the deletion of browsing history
      • (Note: Since vendors change and/or redirect URLs frequently, this restriction level may interfere with access to curricular resources.)

School MDM administrators can use JamfControl to set elevated restrictions. Click here for more information on how to use JamfControl.
