Across St. Vrain Schools, students and teachers explored coding, robotics and more to celebrate Computer Science Education Week, December 4-10.
Coal Ridge Middle School hosted a Code-a-Thon on Tuesday, December 5 to kick off Computer Science week with a bang! There were 11 teams of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who spent the morning addressing the challenge presented: Increase Happiness at Coal Ridge Middle School. Even students who were new to coding participated and were successful in learning a new literacy skill! Students who had previously taken a technology elective or participated in the CRMS STEM Explorers club had some experience in coding and were excited to put their skills to the test. Thank you to CRMS Librarian Teacher, Karen Hoppis, for organizing and championing this exciting STEM activity!
