What does your average day look like?
I wake up around 5:30 every morning. I start the day with music. (Gospel, Jazz, Classic Rock, etc…whatever pops in my head at the time.) During my morning music selections, I take time to respond to e-mails, check tickets and determine which one of my buildings would be my best starting point for the day. Tickets, emails, texts and phone calls pretty much drive my day from there. It’s important for me to be as flexible as possible since issues can arise at any point.
What are your favorite things about working for St. Vrain?
My co-workers. Having great people around you makes my hour long drive to work a little bit easier. We are a tight knit group who can depend on one another. My move from Chicago was made easy by how quickly I was accepted into the fold. Another favorite part about working for St. Vrain has to be it’s culture, and the dedication that the district has toward the staff and students. I also enjoy the relaxed nature, and the ability to direct my own day as I see fit. I’d also like to add my interactions and relationships with the teachers and office staff in the Mead Feeder and Student Services is awesome! They are all great people!
What are your interests or activities outside of St. Vrain?
I enjoy spending time with my wife, cooking, attending sporting events, watching auto racing, going to concerts, traveling and bowling.
What is an interesting or quirky interest or fact about yourself?
I have an interest in collecting gym shoes/sneakers. I currently have about 30 pair, some that have not been worn. I also have a longstanding love for aquariums. Currently looking into setting up a freshwater community, any ideas, send them my way!
