What does your average day look like?
I typically come into the office and check my email to see what has come in overnight and the same with our ticketing system. Once I have checked these items, I look at my calendar to see what meetings I have for the day and formulate a plan of attack. Due to the nature of IT, my plan seldom works out. I get side-tracked with helping a coworker, an urgent ticket, an unexpected meeting, or an extra long repair. Due to these, I end up making up the day as I go along. Everyday tasks can include any of the following: computer maintenance, work orders, computer management system maintenance, patch management maintenance, computer image creation, supervising our temporary student workers, consulting on District AV systems, or coming up with solutions for any new, unique problems that develop.
What are you favorite things about working for St. Vrain?
One of my favorite things about working for St. Vrain is the variety of tasks that I get to work on and the opportunity to constantly learn. These can also be the greatest frustration, as it can become overwhelming at times. Another is knowing that in my own way, I am helping to form the next generation of great thinkers and innovators.
What are your interests or activities outside of St. Vrain?
Most of my time outside of St. Vrain is spent on my pro-audio business. If I’m not doing something audio related, I will be working on my house, working on my parent’s house, tinkering with something electrical or mechanical, or just hanging out and taking a breather.
