Security certificate changes are going to be applied to the wireless network on February 18th. Please see below for specific information and actions to take for the device(s) you use.
- All laptops located in carts:
- Should have been updated automatically if they have been restarted on a SVVSD wired or wireless network at least twice in the last three weeks.
- If a device has not been used in the last three weeks, make sure it has been powered on before the end of the day on February 17th
- Other District laptops
- Windows laptops should have been updated automatically if they have been restarted on a SVVSD wired or wireless network at least twice in the last three weeks. If a device has not been used in the last three weeks, make sure it has been powered on before the end of the day on February 17th
- Mac Laptops should have been updated automatically if they have been on a SVVSD wired or wireless network for at least a day in the last three weeks. If a device has not been used in the last three weeks, make sure it has been powered on before the end of the day on February 17th
- LTP iPads managed by the MDM:
- MDM iPads should have been updated automatically if they have been on a internet-connected network for at least a few hours in the last week. Can check by looking for new configuration profile in the management profiles.
- If your iPad has not been automatically updated, please see your building’s support person for troubleshooting.
- Configurator iPads
- Configurator iPads will need to be updated with the new profiles sent out to the configurator group
- Chromebooks
- No change or update needed.
- If they are set to use svvsd-public, they must be changed to svvsd or svvmd to be compatible with state testing.
- Other unmanaged and personal devices:
- Unmanaged devices will need to accept the new certificate if/when prompted.
