Making an Afghan

“Warm Up America” was Twisted Stitchers group’s, in DTS, inspiration to embark upon a three month journey to crochet and knit 49 squares and then transform them into a colorful afghan masterpiece. They were all encouraged to prevail even though this was the first time for a few of the fiber artists to knit or crochet. Knowing that this afghan will now find a new home with a deserving family that Luis Chavez plans to help us find was an excellent motivator. Most of the work was completed during lunch time on Mondays. The team involved with making this a reality pictured in photos below from left to right: Jean Burow, Jennifer Lyon, Karen Adams, Melissa Vantine, Lisa Morrell, Dr. Debby Telfer, Mary Malpezzi, and Christi Deeter.
