Happy Holidays from the Department of Technology Services

As we approach Winter Break, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing us to serve you. 2011 has been a year of many challenges and changes such as a new Citrix environment, Google Mail, secondary student email, school construction, network and printer issues, etc. I hope you know that each and every member of our team strives to provide you with the best possible service.

I also want to let you know that SVVSD’s Google applications will have a new “look and feel”. One of the realities of moving to Google is that it is always improving; therefore, always changing.  You may have already seen a message from Google on this change. The new look for Gmail started to roll out as the default interface on Tuesday, December 13th. The new look will become permanent on Thursday, December 15th.

If you would like to learn more, you can:
·      Explore on your own http://learn.googleapps.com/new-look-gmail
·      Ask your Building Technology Contact http://blogs.stvrain.k12.co.us/helpdesk/btcs/
·      Contact the Help Desk if you have a technical question helpdesk@svvsd.org

We have several exciting things planned for 2012 and will communicate those with you as soon as possible. Meanwhile, please enjoy your well-deserved Winter Break.

Very Sincerely,

Joe McBreen
